This memorial was built to honor Kip Tiernan, who opened the first women’s shelter in the United States, Rosie’s Place. It sits on a busy street corner in downtown Boston, MA and is 15’ tall, 19’ wide & 10’ deep. The three arches were fabricated using an interlocking interior armature that consists of over 100 waterjet cut pieces that fit together with half lap joints. A perforated stainless steel skin was then fitted over the armature to create the finished piece. The memorial also has six laser cut text panels on the interior legs that feature Kip Tiernan’s writings.

Based on Studio Endo’s KRUOS MIRROR SM46, this custom design is a double sided lighted mirror and is secured to a cabinet instead of the wall. This design required a unique steel frame to support the weight of the mirrors which was assembled onsite and secured within the custom cabinet. These mirrors are also wired through the base instead of the back like the original design.

Based on Studio Endo’s FIGARO V, this custom 10 piece chandelier has twice as many pendants as the original design and is approximately 6’ high x 4’ deep x 7.5’ long in size. It was designed for a foyer of a private residence in Long Island and had many design considerations including how to lift and secure the almost 4 x 8’ canopy to the second story ceiling without interfering with the grand staircase in the entrance hall.

The Coventry Stool and Barrington Chair were two of six pieces that made up Studio DUNN’s original collection. The design for the two pieces was inspired by the use of the CNC to create the organic transition from the seat to the legs. Studio DUNN’s premier collection was shown at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York in 2010 and won the coveted “Best New Designer” award.

The Naupaka Collapsible Trivet is a personal project. This trivet easily supports a pot or casserole dish, but collapses for convenient storage in a silverware drawer. The form was inspired by the beach Naupaka, a tiny half-flower commonly found along Hawaiian beaches.
